Pēteris Dimants,
MBA degree in economics
Pēteris Dimants manages two green educational agricultural and tourism farms. Previously, he served as the executive director of Ogre Municipality. Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, he has been actively volunteering, primarily coordinating aid for soldiers, including the delivery of household essentials, medical supplies, and dual-use goods. He has organized and participated in 30 mission trips to Ukraine.
Iveta Golubovska,
anesthesiologist – reanimatologist, pain specialist
Iveta Golubovska is Assoc. prof. Faculty of Medicine and Life Sciences, University of Latvia, President of Latvian Society of Anaesthesiologists and reanimatologists. She is a leading specialist in the Hospital of Traumatology and Orthopaedics in Riga. Twice she was a volunteer in Ukraine since the start of the war, training Ukrainian doctors to perform regional blocks under ultrasound guidance. The host of training program for Ukrainian doctors in Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Therapy in Latvia since 2022.
Martins Malzubris,
orthopaedic trauma surgeon, reconstructive microsurgeon
Hospital of Traumatology and Orthopaedic, Riga, Latvia. Head of septic and reconstructive surgery. Head of Latvian Association of trauma and orthopaedic surgeons. Board member of Latvian Association of microsurgeons.
Regular work training of Ukrainian surgeons in various hospital Ukraine since March 2022. Deeply involved in medial help for Ukraine – both training surgeons and treating of injured soldiers – both in Ukraine and Latvia. Together with colleague Olafs Libermanis – well known in Ukrainian medical society – if any contact or information about medical institutions in Ukraine is needed – we get it!
Kristians Patrijuks,
6th year medical student, University of Latvia
Kristian Patrijuk actively involved in medical missions to Ukraine, assisting in Ukrainian clinics alongside experienced Latvian microsurgeons, including Dr. Martins Malzubris. Focuses on the surgical reconstruction of combat-damaged extremities, contributing to the multidisciplinary care of injured soldiers. Participates in both operative assistance and perioperative patient care, gaining valuable experience in war trauma surgery and limb salvage techniques. Committed to ongoing support for Ukraine through direct involvement in surgical missions and fostering professional cooperation between Latvian and Ukrainian medical communities.
Aiva Zalite,
lawyer
Aiva Zalite has a degree in journalism and law. She is Executive director of a charity organization Friendship between Ukraine and Latvia. Since 2022, she has become a volunteer in parallel with her work as a lawyer. “I grew up in one of the oldest towns in Latvia-Limbazi. Once a year on New Year’s Day, I ask God how can I be in use to Him these following days. As the answer, life always puts together a puzzle of events in such a mysterious way that I find myself in the middle of those calling for help.”
Arnis Rukmanis,
Executive Director Latvian Powerlifting Federation, president of Latvian Masresling Federation
Arnis Rukmanis was the first to go to Ukraine with a full load of aid after the Russian attack on Ukraine and returned to Latvia on foot. He has been on more than 45 missions in Ukraine since 2022. His precision, strength and determination have saved many lives.
