2019 Zarins-Knight Traveling Fellows

2019 Zarins-Knight Traveling Fellows

  1. Austra Breiksa, MD. Third-year pathology resident at Stradins Clinical University Hospital. She will spend two months at Kelne University in Germany studying renal biopsy analysis ($5,000).
  2. Sergejs Zadoroznijs, MD. Orthopaedics/traumatology resident. He will spend one month at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York with Dr. Russell F. Windsor ($6,000).
  3. Martins Lauskis, MD. Third-year resident in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He will spend six weeks in Monterrey, Mexico studying temporomandibular joint surgery ($5,000).
  4. Kristaps Krafte. He will spend six weeks at St. Thomas Hospital in London to learn innovative methods of insulin delivery ($6,000).
  5. Katrīna Bandere. She will spend one month with Dr. Harry Winter at UCLA ($2,000).
  6. Ailita Eddy – Premedical Student Scholarship Recipient. She will be working on Kristaps Krafte’s project ($3,000).
